Miss Patty was the cook for 12+ people in town for meetings and gnashing with our little church. Miss Patty, if you didn’t know is excellent cook, especially in mass quantities. But I helped.
For Friday lunch I made my famous Potato bread, which was a total disaster. We had record high barometric pressure in Seattle that day and I’m sure that’s why bread was flat flat flat.
BUT Saturday morning we arrived early and I started cooking hashbrowns. I was a bit concerned because I had to hold them in the oven. I could not cook them all at once. But I did use my secret herbs and spices mix.
Then just before serving, let them get a bit crunchy under the broiler!
They were a huge hit. I even shared my secret herbs and spices recipe (which is also terribly healthful) with them. Now I can sue them if they publish it. Oh, wait, we’re Quakers, we don’t sue people. Well, my revenge would be the next time they’re in town I’d substitute crispy sauerkraut for hashbrowns.
Aw, geez, that could backfire, what if those turn out extra yummy?
